presidente del Cabildo de Tenerife, Pedro Mart\u00edn, y la concejala de Patrimonio, Elvira Jorge, presidieron el acto en el que se descubri\u00f3 una placa conmemorativa donada por el Grupo de Ciudades Patrimonio de la Humanidad.<\/p><p>En su intervenci\u00f3n, el alcalde ha asegurado que el reconocimiento de la Unesco supuso \u201cun logro colectivo para una ciudad que supo crecer sin renunciar a la esencia de sus or\u00edgenes. Generaciones enteras de laguneros y laguneras han sabido armonizar el respeto y protecci\u00f3n de nuestro entorno con la pujanza econ\u00f3mica y el desarrollo social y cultural. Ese es uno de los principales distintivos de nuestra ciudad. Por eso celebramos un t\u00edtulo que es al mismo tiempo reconocimiento y compromiso, \u00e9xito y oportunidad. La Laguna es Patrimonio Mundial y esa es una condici\u00f3n que debemos lucir con orgullo y por la que hoy nos felicitamos\u201d, ha manifestado el alcalde, subrayando que \u201cel patrimonio es un organismo vivo que debemos recuperar, proteger y habitar\u201d.<\/p><p>Tanto el cronista oficial de La Laguna, Eliseo Izquierdo, como el presidente del Cabildo de Tenerife y la concejala de Patrimonio ensalzaron en sus intervenciones el legado monumental de la ciudad, el revulsivo que supuso la declaraci\u00f3n de la Unesco, y la necesidad de garantizar la conservaci\u00f3n y uso del patrocinio hist\u00f3rico.
