La escuela era femenina y lleg\u00f3 a contar con 500 alumnas, que cursaban sus estudios hasta el bachillerato.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Si bien es un edificio construido en centurias anteriores, la fachada corresponde a una modificaci\u00f3n integral\u00a0 llevada a cabo\u00a0 en 1912 por el arquitecto Mariano Estanga,\u00a0 y por encargo\u00a0 del Colegio de las Madres Dominicas. La decoraci\u00f3n de la fachada es historicista (neog\u00f3tico), como se refleja en los arcos conopiales y las lacer\u00edas. En un lateral, sobre peana, Santo Domingo de Guzm\u00e1n, s\u00edmbolo de la orden dominica.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Actualmente se ubican dependencias municipales; siendo las m\u00e1s destacadas las del Archivo Municipal, el m\u00e1s antiguo y amplio en documentos hist\u00f3ricos de\u00a0
